PHASE 1
Planning and Permitting
May 2021 – May 2025
This is the ‘backend’ of the project. It will lay the foundation for building our new neighborhood park.
🌻 Form a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, engage potential stakeholders, partners, organizations, and government agencies. ✔ COMPLETED
🌻 Assemble a design team and create Concept Plan. ✔ COMPLETED

Assemblymember Steve Bennett Secures $500,000 From State Budget for Meiners Oaks Park
🌻 Seek public input through community engagement - tabling, presentations.
🌻 Begin to inform our neighbors in ways they can engage in each of the project phases.
🌻 Conduct CEQA.
🌻 Prepare and submit final planning documents to Ventura County for review, approval and permits.

This is the exciting, very public phase. With the help of our skilled and professional neighbors, we will transform an abandoned commercial property into a vibrant, nature-focused neighborhood park.

Management and Maintenance

Our community enjoys and supports the park. We explore, play, imagine, and create here ~ have picnics, climb, walk and run. We manage and maintain the park. Importantly, we will hold fundraisers to support the park into the future.
